Wrights unveils refreshed shop design ahead of 100-year celebrations

Our brand Wrights has officially kicked off a major refresh of its 14 retail shops across Stoke-on-Trent, starting with the reopening of its Leek store last week.

The transformation marks the beginning of a new chapter for our business as it gears up to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026.

The refresh sees Wrights evolve into Wrights the Bakery, with a modern twist on its existing branding. It features a bolder version of its well-recognised orange logo, complemented by charcoal facades, digital menu screens, and new staff uniforms in black with orange accents, bringing a contemporary feel to the high street while staying true to the brand’s heritage.

Stores in Hanley, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Wolstanton, and Tunstall are set to be upgraded before the end of the year, with the remaining shops including Longton, Shelton, Northwood, Stoke, Burslem, Fenton, Meir, Kidsgrove and Chell, scheduled for 2026.

Customers will still be able to enjoy Wrights’ well-loved favourites, including its Vanilla Slice and iconic Meat and Potato Pie, still made to the same recipe used 100 years ago, alongside a growing range of breakfast, lunch, and pie and peas meal deals.

The refresh also extends online, with updated social media channels and a new website launching soon, making it easier than ever to explore Wrights’ products and offers.

Jason Manley, Brand Director at The Compleat Food Group, home of Wrights, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our roots in Stoke-on-Trent and our long-standing commitment to the local high street. This refresh is about making Wrights the Bakery even more relevant to today’s customers, while continuing to deliver the delicious, high-quality foods that people know and love.

“It’s a particularly exciting time for us as we look ahead to celebrating our centenary year in 2026. This marks just the beginning of what promises to be a fantastic year of celebration.”

Founded in 1926, Wrights opened its first shop in 1932 and has grown into one of the UK’s leading food bakery businesses. It’s become well-known for its award-winning savoury pastry and signature sweet treats at its 14 retail shops, as well as supplying leading foodservice businesses throughout the UK, including top restaurants and independent bakeries.
