Our People

‘Food to Feel Good’ lives through our whole business and nowhere is that as important as our people.

We want to be a great employer where every member of our team feels as valued as the next and they share our passion for creating great-tasting food and building a better business that has a positive impact on the world around us. At the heart of that is a desire to create an environment where our teams feel supported and empowered to take decisions through collaboration and openness.

But don’t just take our word for it, here’s some of the team to tell you themselves…

Palethorpes is a large site but it feels like a close-knit family. I work in the technical department but feel included with all the different departments of the site. Due to manufacturing and developing ready-to-eat products – there is always something new, exciting and innovative arising!

I have many different aspects to my job role – which means no day is ever the same. I am part of a great team that offers great guidance, support, knowledge and training. My ideas and improvements always feel like they are listened to and encouraged. I am excited to see where the future leads within the Compleat Food Group. The aim is now to have a boardroom named after me like Alan Burton!

Lizzie Evans, Food Safety Technologist

It is nice to be able to tell friends and family “we made that”.

Sallyann Marshall, Shift Production Manager

My job as the Palethorpes lead senior Chef is to create new innovations and concepts to excite our customers. Innovation is challenging but also very rewarding when a product hits the shelf.

The team effort involved to bring a concept to life really shows the skill quality and passion all the staff have. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I’m excited to see where we can take the newly formed Compleat Food Group.

David Martin, Senior Development Chef

I like the cultural diversity of the Group and get to utilise the four languages I speak.

Ausra Kokanskiene, HR Advisor

I started working with The Compleat Food Group on a temporary basis at the beginning of 2021, as a part-time admin assistant in the Health & Safety Department. I put a presentation forward on waste management to the Group SHE Manager and I am proud to say that my effort was recognised and shortly thereafter I was offered a Level 3 SHE Technician Apprenticeship. I am working on some great projects with the Group and I get a lot of support from senior management and colleagues. There are lots of opportunities for learning and development at TCFG.

Byron Meikle, SHE Coordinator

I like how the business feels family orientated, everyone is friendly and approachable.

Charlotte Hoyle, Product Developer

The finance team are very strong, close-knit, and supportive. I’m lucky in my department, the flexibility is good with regards to working from home and the hours you work. There are also good social events! I think people are given opportunities in the business which is good. I started work with the business through an agency working as a picker.

After this, I went into my current role by moving across roles from Supply Chain to Finance when the opportunity was available. I enjoy the role I have, I get to work on different projects to improve the integrity of reports with better detail and the role is ever evolving with the business.

Coming from an agency picking to working in Finance and sending reports to the Board, it’s been a journey. With no qualifications and just experience, I’ve been given great opportunities.

David Tunnah, Finance Analyst

I’m constantly learning new things and there’s never a dull moment.

Ellie Simpson, Purchase Ledger Clerk

I like that there are opportunities to grow within the company. Over time I’ve built long-standing friendships in the business which has helped me to achieve my own personal goals. I came in via an agency and then was taken on as a permanent member of staff. I enjoy the role and opportunities to learn more within the business.

I am part of a supportive team that are always ready and willing to help each other. I enjoy taking on new challenges and my role allows me to do that. I was given the opportunity to grow within different roles and departments within the company which gives me a real sense of pride.

Robert Martindale, Customer Service Coordinator
