We’ve reached our £100,000 fundraising milestone for Macmillan

We are incredibly proud to share that we have reached our fundraising target of £100,000 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in our partnership and reflects the dedication, compassion, and generosity of our entire team.

Over the past year, our colleagues have come together in countless ways to support people living with cancer. The Compleat Asset Care Team took on the Lake District Ultra challenge, trekking 100km in just 24 hours. Their inspiring work has raised over £25,000 alone.

Elsewhere, our teams took on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike, the Lake District Mighty Hike and we were proud sponsors at the annual Market Drayton 10K where our team from Palethorpes Bakery joined over 1,600 runners at the starting line.

The £100,000 raised is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for an entire year or keep the Macmillan Support Line running for a full week, providing vital emotional and practical support to those who need it most.

Our CEO, Nick Field, reflected on the pride this partnership brings to our organisation, describing it as the beginning of something truly meaningful and long-lasting. He added: “This is just the first year of a longer journey, one that we can all be genuinely proud of.”

David Moore, our Group Head of ESG, captured the spirit of our achievement perfectly when he said: “We didn’t just hit our £100k target, we changed lives doing it.”

That sentiment is echoed by the Macmillan team, who reminded us that they are often the first point of contact for someone newly diagnosed with cancer, and sometimes the only voice that person hears.

As we look ahead to the second year of our partnership, we’re excited to build on this momentum. Plans are already underway for more fundraising events, volunteering opportunities and awareness campaigns – from coffee mornings to marathons and everything in between.
