Skilled Production operatives

12-Hour Shifts Days or Nights

  • £1ph Night shift flexis additional pay from 6th November

Bonus: 

  • £250 If working 12 consecutive shifts from 11th to 26th December
  • £500 For all new joiners from 1st November, must complete a minimum of 30 hours per week, for 8/10 weeks.
  • £300 recommend an friend, £100 per 4 weeks

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure the machinery is operating to health and safety standards and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure the machinery is running at the optimum standards for operational procedures.
  • Ensure hygiene standards for machinery are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure the machine is running to the optimum speed within the set parameters.
  • Ensure all CCPs adhere to the traceability documentation is completed.
  • Ensure efficient changeover of products.
  • Ensure the quality of the materials entering the machine, and products out of the machine are to spec.
  • To ensure the machinery is operating to health and safety standards and relevant legislation
  • Highlight issues and continually strive to improve the performance of machinery.
  • To give technical advice on the area of responsibility for trial work.
  • Desputise for the other Line Leaders and General Operatives where necessary.
  • To have a positive approach to the role and show commitment to the performance of the department.
  • Maintain good communication with other departments within the business.
  • Ensure good relationships with other departments.
  • Demonstrate a “can do” culture.
  • Provide training to Skilled Operatives where relevant.
  • To report Near Misses as soon as possible.
  • To follow instructions from Line Leader or other Managers

Output Measures/KPIs

  • Equipment/machine ready for production use in a safe manner.
  • Achieve 100% target for start-up checks met.
  • Identify & report any safety improvements required.
  • Complete minor asset care to machinery to increase performance, record, and share with Engineering Department.
  • Highlight changes in the SOP
  • Ensure all critical control points are adhered to.
  • Walk away standards met.
  • Standards of hygiene adhered to.
  • Machine cleaned effectively during product changeovers.
  • GMP standards are maintained and GMP sheets are completed.
  • Workplace Organization is maintained.
  • Audit ready at all times.
  • Check the units per minute throughput of the machine.
  • Ensure weights are controlled correctly.
  • 100% compliance with all audits.
  • Responsible for setting and re-setting changeovers to set time standards.
  • Highlight inefficiencies with changeovers to improve on time.
  • Changing product as per schedule.
  • Quality of raw materials.
  • Quality of product through machine.
  • Highlight issues with material to the Line Process Leader/ Shift Manager/ Area Manager.
  • Quality standards are adhered to. Highlight any issues.
  • 100% process control.
  • Increased throughput of machinery.
  • Asset care of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting issues that arise leading to route cause resolution.
  • Working closely with engineering to learn and improve on daily effectiveness of the machine.
  • Record the downtime accurately.
  • Advise on best methods and procedures.
  • Work with the technical team to ensure a successful and cost-effective launch.
  • Cover as and when required if willing and able.
  • Working as a team.
  • Constructive and positive attitude to work – willing to learn new areas and improve on own areas of expertise.  Shows flexibility in work ethic.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Building positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Skilled Operatives receive relevant training to enable them to carry out the duties required.

  • Fill in a Near Miss form and give it to the appropriate Manager.
