We are currently looking for a qualified, experienced and committed individual to be responsible for our Safety, Health and Environment requirements at our Tottle Bakery in Nottingham.

Purpose of role:

To ensure Health & Food Safety legal compliance & GMP standards are adhered to at all times, by everyone involved. Ensuring our team and the site achieve the highest standards of Health & Safety every day.

These are the types of duties, you will be responsible for:

Responsible for maintaining, updating and adhering to the sites Health & Safety Policy which includes:

  • Daily H & S site walk arounds.
  • Training records for departmental employees
  • Development of SSoW’s
  • Management of substance hazardous to health (COSHH) documentations (Health & Safety)
  • Management of H & S training records
  • Ensure hygiene GMP internal audits are carried out
  • Carry out building fabrication GMP internal audits
  • Undertake HACCP & departmental risk assessments
  • Accident investigation reports and corrective actions
  • Involvement in customer complaints investigation to prevent re-occurrence.

Critical Success Factors

  • Control of all waste streams on site.
  • Yearly price negotiations with waste management team.
  • Involvement in the carbon trust audits / visits.
  • Involvement in preparing for BRC and other audits
  • Leading member of the site HACCP team
  • Involvement of continuous improvement project work in relation to site H & S.
  • Responsible for all environmental issues relating to site.
  • Leading project member for site construction or maintenance work
  • Monitoring and reporting of group CSR targets.

About you:

You will be experienced in:

  • Working in a high-risk food manufacturing environment
  • People management (previously held a supervisory role)
  • BRC standards
  • Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and other H&S systems of work
  • Accident reporting and corrective actions

You will have the following Key Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking and analytic mind
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles (essential)
  • UK Full driving licence
  • You will have a NEBOSH National Diploma or similar certification, to show you are suitably qualified in the role.
