Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Technician to join our team at Palethorpe's Bakery. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a QA technician role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. As a Senior QA Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • -Conducting daily verification of all Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure compliance with food safety standards, including cooking, cooling, hot filling, pH levels, etc.
  • -Performing daily temperature checks of production areas, chilling units, and products to guarantee adherence to safety regulations.
  • -Conducting thorough quality checks on ingredients, materials, and finished products to ensure correct quality and traceability.
  • -Leading daily walk-arounds of the production area, promptly identifying and reporting any non-conformances to supervisors or management.
  • -Taking charge of placing any non-conforming products on hold, restricted use, or condemnation, and meticulously completing relevant documentation.
  • -Executing regular audits of glass and hard plastic materials, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • -Verifying finished product labels and crate/case end labels to validate accurate Use By Dates.
  • -Performing weekly handwashing temperature checks and completing hygiene and fabrication audits to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • -Conducting equipment calibrations, including temperature probes, pH meters, and sieves, to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • -Documenting Corrective Action Reports for any non-conforming products or incidents, ensuring effective resolution by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • -Participating actively in taste panels as part of the broader Technical Team.
  • -Conducting specific allergen room swabbing releases and product testing, such as for Gluten-Free or Vegan products.
  • -Ensuring completion of weekly cooking and cooling verifications to maintain product integrity.
  • -Undertaking any other reasonable tasks related to the position as deemed suitable by the QA Team Leader.

Essential Criteria:

  • -Minimum of two years experience as a QA Technician in a food environment.
  • -Possession of Food Safety Level 2 certification, ideally Level 3.
  • -Thorough understanding of HACCP principles and practices.
  • -HACCP Level 2 certification (Desired)
