We’re excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our dedicated and professional SHE team in Milton Keynes!

The Senior HSE Advisor is accountable for driving health, safety, and environmental performance within their designated area of responsibility. The role ensures effective implementation of the HSE strategy, governance framework, and management systems to maintain compliance and deliver operational excellence. The Senior HSE Advisor collaborates with leadership teams, supports HSE practitioners, and appropriately escalates issues to ensure continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.

Role Details:

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience, with Car Allowance and discretionary bonus scheme.

 

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Lead risk assessments, ensuring effective control measures and safe operational practices.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and oversee completion of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, policies, and management systems.
  • Deliver HSE training, awareness, and competency programmes.
  • Provide guidance and support to HSE practitioners and operational teams.
  • Ensure robust emergency response, site security, and waste management arrangements.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations, applying Best Available Techniques (BAT).
  • Engage with leadership teams to integrate HSE systems and communicate performance.
  • Facilitate HSE meetings, promoting engagement and a strong safety culture.
  • Manage assigned HSE budgets, resources, and health assessment programmes.
  • Liaise with regulators and authorities, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.
  • Support internal, external, and customer audits, ensuring findings are addressed.
  • Maintain professional standards through ongoing CPD and active participation in the HSE community.
  • Contribute to governance framework deployment and achievement of functional HSE objectives.
  • Collaborate across teams, share best practice, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required, aligned with business risk and priorities.

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ HSE experience. 
  • Level 3 HSE Ofqual qualification, working towards Level 6. 
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, compliance, physical security management, and trade effluent requirements. 
  • Strong capability in forward thinking and use of technology systems and devices. 
  • Ability to deliver HSE functions effectively, support operational teams, and influence leadership teams.
