Senior Commercial Manager – Foodservice End User

Based from Crewe, with National Travel and opportunity to WFH

Ready to own and grow relationships with some of the UK’s most exciting out-of-home food brands? If you’re a commercially sharp, food-manufacturing sales professional who understands what end-user customers need (quality, consistency, service and margin), this is your chance to make a visible impact in one of our key trading areas.

The role

Following significant growth within Food Service as a whole, we are now looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to manage our Food Service "End User" customers. You’ll lead the day-to-day management of a portfolio of key "Food service End User" customers, owning the commercial agenda end-to-end: sales growth, profitability, supply chain collaboration and new product development (NPD). Working closely with the Food Service Commercial Director and a cross-functional business unit, you’ll build account plans that turn insight into sustainable growth for both us and our customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and strengthen senior relationships with key national end-user accounts across the UK (Restaurants, Pub Groups, QSR and wider hospitality).
  • Deliver revenue and margin growth through robust account plans, forecasting, range reviews and commercial negotiations.
  • Spot and convert new business opportunities while growing existing accounts through cross-sell, upsell and NPD.
  • Lead customer performance reviews and provide clear reporting and insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the internal and external “go-to” for your accounts, aligning supply chain, production, NPD, technical and commercial teams to deliver brilliantly.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity and translate trends into actions that protect and grow share.
  • Champion category thinking to help shape the offer for mutual, long-term gain.
  • Travel nationally to meet customers and represent the business at relevant industry events.

Who we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in a commercial sales / national account role within the UK food industry, ideally supplying foodservice end-user customers (restaurants, pub groups, QSR and hospitality). Foodservice wholesale experience is a plus.
  • A proven track record of delivering sales targets and profitable growth.
  • Confident negotiator with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially strong and numerate: comfortable analysing performance, pricing and market information.
  • Self-starter mindset with the curiosity to find opportunities and the drive to convert them.
  • Strong knowledge of own-label and branded propositions, and what customers look for in a supply partner (quality, consistency, service and value).
  • National travel required; full UK driving licence.
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office).

Nice to have:

  • Frozen and/or chilled experience; savoury pastry / sweet bakery category knowledge.
  • Experience with category management principles and applying them in customer discussions.
  • Exposure to strategic partnerships, costing models and regular NPD pipelines.
  • Experience supplying major out-of-home high street brands and QSR operators.

Your style:

  • Entrepreneurial, energetic and comfortable working at pace.
  • Resilient and determined, with the confidence to handle ambiguity and turn it into action.
  • High integrity, trusted by colleagues and customers.
  • Personable and credible with stakeholders at all levels.
