Production Planner

The main purpose of this role is to support the Market Drayton site in creating demand for Production by looking at the sales forecast, stock holding and site capacity. The aim is to ensure the factory is planned in the most effective and efficient manner. Accountable for the smooth running of the production day by minimising changeovers and maximising production efficiency.

Key Duties:

  • Maintain production plan template with correct product information – Product code, allergen, planning speed, labour etc
  • Maintain date sheet with correct information – product life, configuration, promos etc
  • Collect and assess information about productions performance
  • Collect and assess information about Finished Good storage off site vs sales demand and forecast
  • Prepare reports about production performance and site achievement.
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions
  • Determine customer requirements
  • Create and maintain factory BOM’s
  • Co-ordinate defrost requirement for various raw materials
  • Create & maintain product setup on Gemba
  • Liaise with NPD regarding trials and product launches
  • Forward planning – looking at forecasts & capacity for the next week/month/quarter etc
  • Improve planning tools for the Palethorpes Bakery site as the business continues to grow
  • Develop a mixing room plan based on the production plan. This would include allergen sequence, chiller stocks, potential stock outs and replacement for efficient production
  • Track, arrange and liaise with the Transport functions to ensure maximisation of trailers and that they are planned in a timely manner to meet customer demand
  • In addition to your main duties you will be required to carry out such duties consistent with your status and abilities as the Company may from time to time require

The above list is not exhaustive and the following would be involved when covering in the Factory Planner’s absence:

 

  • Create and issue daily production plan
  • Issue daily date sheet
  • Create and issue daily backshift plan
  • Monitor progress of plan and update and communicate any changes
  • Arrange and co-ordinate transport requirements with Redhill transport team & Nuneaton
  • Liaise with and co-ordinate the warehouse regarding daily rollover and despatch requirements & priorities

Experience:  

  • Food manufacturing experience within an FMCG environment 
  • HACCP / Food Safety Training/basic knowledge
