Role Details:
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: Up to £30,000 – £32,000 per annum depending on experience
Your Duties Will Include:
- Conduct site diagnostics and assessments to identify improvement opportunities aligned with the annual budget cycle.
- Communicate identified opportunities to the Site Leadership Team and BU Operational Excellence (OE) Manager to support opportunity-based target setting during budget planning.
- Lead the Funding for Growth (FFG) agenda, ensuring all improvement activities are tracked and associated benefits are accurately measured.
- Manage and deliver high-complexity or cross-functional site improvement projects.
- For prioritized site opportunities, establish project teams, develop clear project charters, and coach teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Ensure robust governance structures are in place for all site improvement initiatives.
- Implement and sustain the Site Integrated Management (SIM) and Business Performance Management processes to drive effective performance management at all organizational levels—covering handover, SIC, daily, weekly, and monthly reviews in line with central blueprint standards.
- Champion best-practice Operational Excellence tools and methodologies (e.g., SIM, 5S, PSG, TPM) through design, coaching, and staff training to eliminate waste, reduce non–value-added activities, and align processes with central standards.
- Cascade central Continuous Improvement (CI) programs, adapting them to meet local site requirements.
- Conduct Operational Excellence maturity assessments in accordance with centrally defined processes and ensure corresponding site improvement plans are in place and actively progressing.
- Foster a strong Continuous Improvement culture by embedding leadership process confirmations across the site as part of Leader Standard Work.
- Define competency requirements for key roles and perform training needs analyses to develop and maintain a site-wide Operational Excellence competency plan.
- Based on the training needs analysis, ensure employees receive the necessary training, achieve required competency standards, and are effectively audited and certified.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / manufacturing/ food / feed or technical field.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing factory
- Experience with Operational Excellence programs (Lean, TPM, 6 Sigma…) with associated certification preferred
- Trainer experience
- Good level of English in writing and speaking – French is a plus
- Proven record of delivering improvements in a sustainable way.
