We’re excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a Shift Engineer to join our dedicated and professional engineering support team in Nottingham!

Role Details:

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off – Nights, 6pm – 6am

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £55,000 – £57,000

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Diagnose faults efficiently with strong technical knowledge and hands-on maintenance skills (planned and reactive).
  • Complete all required documentation and service reports accurately.
  • Carry out ad-hoc tasks as directed by engineering management.
  • Work in line with SOPs, SSOWs, and technical standards, ensuring full compliance with regulations and H&S requirements.
  • Accurately record job data in engineering systems to support inventory control and cost management.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation, applying safe working practices at all times.
  • Provide technical support, including root cause analysis and effective problem solving.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to optimise plant performance and productivity.
  • Follow site engineering standards, including asset management, contractor control, and safe working practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across health, safety, and food safety, supporting effective cross-functional teamwork.

About You:

Required

  • BTEC/NVQ Level 3 In Mechanical Or Electrical Engineering (Multiskilled Advantageous) 
  • 2-3 years experience working in an FMCG environment (preferably in food manufacturing) 
  • Solid understanding of UK Health And Safety Law (IOSH Managing Safely is advantageous) 
  • Strong problem solving and innovative thinking 
  • Strong communication 
  • Strong IT skills 

Desirable: 

  • PLC skills and knowledge (fault finding and programming) 
  • HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline 
  • Understanding of reliability centred maintenance 
  • Food Safety Level 3 
  • HACCP Level 3
