We are looking for a reliable and proactive Goods In Operative to join our team at our Southbank Manufacturing site. This is a key role at the heart of our operation, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and materials that keep production running efficiently. 

With operations across two manufacturing sites and one distribution location, Middlesbrough is the home of party food producing bhajis, samosas, onion rings, and spring rolls!

Shift Pattern: 4on 4off 06:00 – 18:00

Key Responsibilities

As Goods In Operator, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining stock accuracy, supporting production, and upholding high standards of safety, quality, and hygiene. This role also offers the opportunity to step up and deputise for the Team Leader, making it ideal for someone looking to grow and develop within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Carry out daily and weekend stock takes, including packaging and box stock
  • Maintain accurate stock control through effective rotation and monitoring
  • Identify and escalate issues such as shortages, overstocking, or out-of-date materials
  • Ensure all goods received and dispatched meet quality and date requirements
  • Complete all goods-in checks, temperature checks, and relevant documentation
  • Maintain full traceability and ensure paperwork is accurate and up to date
  • Provide key information to Purchasing, Planning, and Finance teams
  • Supply raw materials and packaging to production areas in line with requisition sheets
  • Ensure all requisitions are fulfilled on time and accurately
  • Develop skills to become multi-skilled across the department
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping across all areas
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, reporting incidents promptly
  • Support a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment
  • Operate forklifts (counterbalance) safely and effectively
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team development

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (desirable)
  • A positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop
