We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our ambitious Finance team in Nottingham. In this influential role, you’ll transform data into meaningful insights, delivering precise analysis, insightful reporting, and forward-looking models that empower strategic decisions across the business.

Working Hours:

The working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:30am – 5pm, and 8.30pm – 4pm on Fridays

We also offer Hybrid and flexible working.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process 
  • Lead the production of timelines, templates and communication 
  • Build relationships with all key stakeholders (Group Finance, Ops Finance, Commercial Finance) 
  • Prepare and deliver the Weekly Board Pack, including: Profit & Loss (P&L); Operational Pages and Commercial Pages 
  • Working closely with Operational Pages and Commercial teams to understand variances 
  • Produce monthly Capex reports   
  • Liaise with the Central Assets team to understand expected capitalisation   
  • Reconcile expected Capex position to the month-end balance sheet   
  • Track actuals vs. budget for Capex projects and prepare supporting commentary for review with the Central Capex team   
  • Rephase Capex spend in line with expectations and timelines, updating forecasts accordingly 
  • Review and analyse monthly cost centre reports produced by Central Finance (Accounting)  
  • Investigate insight for key variances against budget / forecast by engaging with cost centre owners  
  • Provide sensible period reporting with actionable insights and recommendations to support financial discipline and control to all departmental owners 
  • Prepare reports on a monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual basis   
  • Coordinate with internal teams to source data   
  • Maintain audit trail and documentation for all submissions 
  • Support development of ad hoc financial models for:   
  • Scenario and sensitivity analysis   
  • Serve as a finance liaison to departments across the organisation   
  • Provide insight, challenge assumptions, and support budget owners   
  • Ensure financial understanding and alignment with forecasts 

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant with at least +2 years PQE  
  • Minimum +3 years of working in a FPA function 
  • Good stakeholder management experience 
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Essential: Able to model business and departmental P&Ls, Balance Sheets and Cashflows and solid understanding of Profit & Loss, cash flow, and balance sheet mechanics   
  • Essential: Strong Excel / Financial Modelling skills  
  • (Including : pivot tables, lookups, SumIFS; Index and; Match) 
  • Essential: Experience in Business Partnering Operational and Commercial Finance teams 
  • Essential Experience preparing executive-level reporting packs for review and presenting complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders clearly 
  • Ability to work at pace with a demanding workload and balancing pace with accuracy 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple finance teams and business units
