We are looking for a proactive and driven Food Production Zone Manager to join our Chilled Food manufacturing team in Bristol.

Job Title: Zone Manager

Shift Pattern: 06:00 – 18:00 4on 4off 

Location: Unit 4, Bristol Distribution Park, Hawkley Drive, Woodlands Road, Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 0BF

About the role: 

In this key leadership role, you will oversee a designated production area, leading colleagues and ensuring processes run efficiently, safely, and to the highest food manufacturing standards.

You will play a vital role in delivering production targets, maintaining quality and safety standards, and developing a high-performing team. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy driving operational improvements, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Zone Manager, you will:

Deliver Production Performance

  • Lead your department/zone to achieve productivity and efficiency targets in line with the production plan
  • Ensure products are prepared and manufactured to the highest standards

 Lead and Develop Your Team

  • Manage and support colleagues within your zone
  • Monitor team capability and support development to maximise potential
  • Ensure clear communication of goals, expectations and performance standards

 Ensure Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor raw materials, ingredients and processes to ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture
  • Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions and encourage near-miss reporting

Drive Operational Improvement

  • Review operational trends and identify opportunities to improve quality, performance and profitability
  • Monitor machinery and equipment performance through Optimum Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
  • Contribute to customer and technical process development reviews to enhance production quality and consistency

 Collaborate Across Operations

  • Communicate regularly with the operations team on progress against the production plan
  • Highlight risks to production volumes, timelines or standards

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, organised, and passionate about operational excellence.

You will ideally have:

✔ Good standard of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills
✔ Ability to communicate effectively and report in English
✔ Experience managing teams in a complex manufacturing environment
✔ Advanced Food Hygiene certification
✔ HACCP Level 2 qualification
✔ IOSH Level 2 qualification
