Role Details:

Working Hours: 4 on, 4 off: 2 x Days 6am-6pm, 2 Days Nights 6pm – 6am

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role

Location: Ebbw Vale

Salary: Up to £54,500

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Coordinate and delegate maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Act as the responsible on-site engineering contact outside normal working hours.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise.
  • Complete and maintain accurate service reports and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain system data to support inventory management, purchasing control, and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, promoting safe working practices at all times.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting expertise, and innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to optimise plant performance, utilities, and operational reliability.
  • Follow established engineering standards, including asset management, contractor control, and safe systems of work.
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture in partnership with site Health & Safety teams.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Supervisor or Engineering Manager.

About You:

  • Demonstrate your multi- skilled engineering expertise through time served experience and/or qualifications.
  • A time served engineer with BTEC Level 3 qualification is essential in mechanical or electrical engineering (as specified within the job advert).
  • HNC or HND qualification in an Engineering discipline – desirable
  • Good knowledge of technical Health & Safety requirements.
  • Previous experience within a similar role and within a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively, and within a cost-effective manner / within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrable record of influencing at all levels within an organisation.
  • Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
  • Effective team player.
  • Proven track record of delivering performance improvements.
  • HACCP level 3 – desirable.
  • Fully computer literate and proficient.
