We're looking for a Credit Controller to become an integral part of our Finance team at our Nottingham site.

As part of our Finance team, you'll play a key role in managing customer accounts, maintaining healthy cash flow, and building positive relationships with customers across the business. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you'll help ensure timely payments, resolve account queries, and support the wider team in delivering an efficient and effective credit control service.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8.30am – 4pm.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Proactively managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring payments are received in line with agreed credit terms. 
  • Contacting customers to collect outstanding payments whilst maintaining positive working relationships. 
  • Monitoring aged debt reports and taking timely action to reduce overdue balances. 
  • Investigating and resolving invoice, pricing, delivery and account queries in partnership with customers and internal teams. 
  • Accurately allocating payments, reconciling customer accounts and maintaining up-to-date records. 
  • Reviewing credit limits and payment trends, identifying and escalating potential risks. 
  • Supporting month-end activities and driving continuous improvements to maximise cash collection performance.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control, Sales Ledger or similar finance role. 
  • Proven ability to collect outstanding debt while building and maintaining positive customer relationships. 
  • A strong understanding of credit control processes, account reconciliations and cash collection best practice. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels. 
  • Strong organisational and numerical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
