unearthed sponsors UK Heats of the World Tapas Competition

This month, our leading Med-deli brand unearthed is stepping into the culinary spotlight as an official sponsor of the UK Heats of the World Tapas Competition!

It’s the first time the UK has hosted this prestigious global event, which spans 17 countries and celebrates the creativity, culture, and innovation behind tapas – and we’re very proud to be part of it.

The competition will bring together 12 talented chefs from a range of sectors including restaurants, hotels, universities and even the British Army, all competing for a chance to represent the UK in Spain later this year.

As part of our sponsorship, we’re showcasing unearthed Professional, a dedicated foodservice offering from Compleat Foodservice. It brings the bold, sunshine flavours of the Mediterranean to chefs, restaurants, bars and more. For the competition, we’re supplying ingredients including Cooking Chorizo, Presa Pork, Spanish Serrano Ham Gran Reserva, and more. These ingredients will feature in the innovation challenge on day one, where chefs will create original tapas dishes using products from the sponsors’ larder.

We’re also thrilled to be sponsoring Simon Xavier from The Big Table Group for the competition. Simon will have the opportunity to work with unearthed Professional ingredients on day one, and on day two to create his individual tapas for the judges.

We are especially proud to continue our relationship with Omar Allibhoy, who will serve as head judge. A renowned Spanish chef, restauranteur and author, Omar has worked with unearthed on several recipe collaborations and live cookery events, making his involvement a perfect fit for this celebration of authentic tapas.

This event marks an exciting moment for unearthed Professional as it’s a chance to showcase the quality of our produce, support rising culinary talent, and celebrate the power of food to bring people together.

We’ll be sharing updates from the event and cheering on all the chefs as the competition unfolds on 16th and 17th July, at the Blend Culinary Foundation in Sheffield.
