Supporting the production operation through handling of goods for production and despatch of finished goods. All aspects of warehouse hygiene, health and safety compliance, adherence to site operating policy and food safety standards. Maintaining safe waste disposal areas and compliance with environmental controls to satisfy the current legal waste standards requirements. Maintenance of outside areas as required on daily and weekly basis.

Job Duties:

  • Follow the Health and Safety (H&S) procedures and ensure all potential hazards are observed and reported 
  • Use and maintain all equipment in a correct manner and report any equipment issues 
  • Follow the company processes and site operating procedures in relation to food safety, allergen control and maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) throughout the shift
  • General housekeeping, maintaining the internal and external storage areas by following the clean as you go policy and maintain high standards of personal hygiene 
  • Responsible for deliveries and despatches, loading, unloading and storage of all deliveries in a safe, effective and professional manner
  • Brief and assist all delivery drivers on site in accordance to company procedures
  • Deal with delivery queries effectively, efficiently and professionally 
  • Complete and submit documentation accurately and in a timely manner to ensure traceability is maintained
  • Carry out all necessary quality control checks of deliveries as per the QMS and company guidelines
  • Prepare of all production requirements in readiness for production
  • Minimise environmental impact by ensuring company procedures are adhered to regarding waste disposal
  • Meet relevant KPIs and targets assign by the Supervisor/Manager
  • Support new product development (NPD) process
  • Report any anomalies and non – conformances to Supervisor/Manager
  • Assist in day to day operation and provide cover and support to other operatives if necessary

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene (preferable)
  • Essential Hygiene and Chemical Awareness (preferable)
  • ESOL Entry 2 or equivalent (preferable)
  • Fork Lift Truck and MHE certificates (preferable)

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working in a warehouse/stores role
