Palethorpes business produces chilled savoury rolls, savoury hot pies, pasties and slices. The business has been producing products in this category since 1852 and innovation is high on its agenda. Palethorpes has a strong culture of consumer insight. This is underpinned by in-depth food knowledge, with dedicated on-site development chefs working on new products that are driven by food values and quality.

In the last 18 months, the business has invested £2 million to develop a unique chef-inspired cooking method, which produces consistently succulent meat. This is the first use of this technique in the market and has enabled Palethorpes to grow its market presence by winning substantial new business. Using the new technique, Palethorpes has developed several award-winning varieties of hot water short crust pastry pies.

After training your responsibilities will include:-

  • Will report directly to the Shift Manger
  • Effective people management to ensure an engaged and competent workforce
  • Effective management of all other available resource to ensure optimised operational performance
  • Identification and delivery of Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Leading and promoting a safety culture within your area of responsibility and throughout the wider business.
  • Ensuring business is delivered in line with Customer Codes of Practice, relevant legislation and industry standards for best practice.

 

  • Experienced within a food manufacturing business
  • Excellent people manager, with sound knowledge of H&S & GMP
  • Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and measure labour and material requirements to ensure that short / long term agreed targets are met.
  • Great communicator
  • Problem solving and proactive approach
  • IT literate and knowledge of ERP systems and Excel
