Nutrition, Health & Innovation Manager

Hybrid working with regular travel to UK manufacturing sites and on occasion, European partner sites

£48,000 – £50,000 + Benefits

Excited to be advertising this brand new opportunity to help shape the next wave of healthier chilled food innovation. You will be working across our full NPD function and cross functionally with Commercial and Technical, you’ll translate complex nutrition requirements into clear, scalable pipelines that bring winning products to market—at pace. You’ll also strengthen customer and brand health strategies, ensuring they are ambitious, credible and commercially robust, while developing your career in a high-growth business with genuine scope to broaden your remit and progress.

What you will be doing?

  • Lead the nutrition agenda and build a clear nutritional framework that supports brand and customer strategies.
  • Partner with Futures & Innovation and NPD to spot health-led opportunities and turn trends into scalable pipelines.
  • Support recipe development and reformulation (salt, sugar, fat reduction and UPI removal) to hit targets without compromising taste or cost.
  • Deliver nutritional analysis, validation and sign-off through development and launch; benchmark versus competitor and retailer ranges.
  • Own nutrition data and tools (e.g. Nutritics/RP data or similar) and ensure accurate values for specs, packaging and retailer submissions.
  • Ensure compliant labelling and claims (incl. HFSS) and keep policies aligned to retailer codes of practice; track relevant policy changes.
  • Be the nutrition SME for customers—support meetings, queries, tenders and improvement plans with confident, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Build capability internally by delivering practical training on nutrition, health, HFSS and product positioning.

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree-qualified nutrition professional (Nutrition/Dietetics/Food Science or related), with credibility to influence cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK food labelling and nutrition legislation, including HFSS requirements, and retailer codes of practice.
  • Hands-on experience in food manufacturing (ideally chilled/short shelf-life), supporting NPD, reformulation and launch sign-off at pace.
  • Confident working with major UK retailers—able to present nutritional credentials, build improvement plans, and support tenders/submissions.
  • Proficient in nutritional analysis software and data governance, ensuring accurate values for specs, packaging and customer submissions.
  • Commercially minded and pragmatic—balances nutrition, taste and cost, with strong stakeholder management, attention to detail and clear communication.
  • Ideal: Registered Nutritionist (AfN) or equivalent; experience in chilled food industry; strong track record of HFSS reformulation and customer-facing presentations.
