The Role

We are looking for an Engineering Procurement and Stock Controller to join our team on a permanent basis working Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 4.00pm.

The Engineering team at Riverside Bakery work 24 hours, 7 days per week and therefore it is vital that the correct stock is available to ensure the proper maintenance of equipment used within food production. The Engineering and Stock Controller plays a vital role within the operation, ensuring that the required stock is available to the engineering function at all times. 

With such a vast variety of production equipment on site, no two problems are the same. Managing supplier relationships is a key element of this role as you will be the single point of contact for: Equipment, manufacturers, aftermarket sales, third party suppliers, and custom fabricators. 

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Accepting deliveries into the engineering department and booking in stock
  • Monitoring of stock levels using the CMMS system, ensuring that stock levels are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for GMP, health and safety, and general standards within Stores
  • Ability to react to the requirements of unexpected events such as equipment breakdowns to source stock under a time critical constraints
  • Communicate directly with the engineers to understand the requirements of the departments
  • Recording of the spend of the department and producing reports detailing spend vs budget
  • Auditing of stores to ensure that stock is correctly booked out and recorded
  • Plan, design, and implement upgrades to the current stock control methods with the aim to improve the performance of the department.

The Successful Individual

To be successful in the role, it is essential that you will have the following required skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications:

  • Experience using CMMS system
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interpret data from excel and present findings

The following skills are desirable:

  • Understanding of COSHH regulations
  • IOSH Qualification
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
