Despatch Line Leader

The Despatch Line Leader ensures that the day to day tasks are carried out through management of despatch operatives and the close support of the Logistics Line Leader to ensure all product and vehicles are picked and despatched on time in full. Focussing on stock control and organisation, team management, picking accuracy, despatching of vehicles, organising and planning ahead to ensure that the peaks and troughs are managed equally well. Ensure that all stock on Lawson is real time and matches physically stocks in all finished goods areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply

Timely and 100% accurate supply of product to the customer. Product picked and loaded onto vehicles according to outload plans.

Organise the picking of any customers’ product available to them to at the required picking in rates.

Ensure that pallet/dolly labels are maintained on the pallets for the use of guns, and also in compliance with our customers’ requirements.

Manage the scanning of PAV2 is completed daily and managing the return of broken/damaged trays.

Stock

Ensure timely and accurate stock takes, making sure that information is given to planning/production in the correct format and on time and that the Lawson system is up to date.

Ensure that Lawson is up to date with any stock movements between all locations on or off site.

All incorrect confirmations into Despatch are identified and resolved on the day. Any outstanding issues to be raised with the Manager. Investigate any other variances namely write on/offs.

Other Duties

Organise the daily pick sheets and appropriate paperwork for picking for the team.

Plan, organise and lead team to ensure that all activities are achieved effectively and efficiently.

Demonstrate a “can do” culture, and lead by example.

Ensure that operatives are multi-skilled and job rotated ensuring skills are shared.
