Bakery Operative Afternoon shift start time 14.00 until 22.30pm including weekly shift allowance

Job Purpose 

To be part of a team that ensures safe products are manufactured and produced and packed too required in house specifications/QAS agreed; in the correct quantities; and in line with the requirements of the bakery for processing/packing. The role involves working as part of a team. 

 

Main Duties 

  • Ensure that all products are produced/ packed to the agreed specifications with the help of your team leader. 
  • Ensure that you follow the company procedures regarding PPE/personal hygiene/clocking procedure/return to work as out lined in the company handbook. 
  • Comply with company health and safety, food safety (Critical Control Points), allergen conduct and hygiene rules. 
  • To liaise with your team leader (grade 1) to always ensure the smooth running of production. To report any problems with products, machinery breakdowns or anything which could affect the quality, safety or efficiency of our products or production. 
  • To take part in any training that is deemed necessary in relation to the development of staff to meet the requirements of your job description and carry out any remedial action as required by the Shift Manager in compliance with the company operating procedures. 
  • As required, contribute towards the cleanliness of the equipment and work area. 
  • Carry out any reasonable task as requested by your Shift Manager. 
  • All staff members are responsible for their own and others health & safety on site. Any damage to machinery/equipment or spillages, etc must be reported to the Shift Manager immediately.  

Skills and Competencies  

  • Experience of working in a food production facility, producing a wide variety of products. 
  • Sound numerical and communication skills. 
  • The ability to complete paperwork correctly and in plain English, with neat and legible handwriting.
